Previously a nurse, CEO and founder of The Elena Tresh Foundation, Jennifer Tresh possesses a great deal of experience helping others. Jennifer Tresh and two others established a unique treatment center in Mount Dora, Florida, designed to help individuals with Autism and those who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing. Additionally, Jennifer Tresh supports many charities, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Suncoast Hospice, and Neighborhood Family Services Center. Currently, Jennifer Tresh focuses her efforts on her own charity, The Elena Tresh Foundation, which she opened in honor of her daughter, Elena, who died before turning six due to an inoperable brain tumor. With a mission of providing support to families experiencing similar grief, Jennifer Tresh has helped over 300 children to date with her holiday program alone, which helps provide holiday gifts and other necessities to families coping with catastrophic illnesses. Consistently networking and fundraising, Jennifer Tresh works full time with The Elena Tresh Foundation without receiving fiscal compensation. With her latest efforts, Jennifer Tresh secured a plot of land for Elena’s Place, a center designed with the intention of continuing to fulfill the Foundation’s mission. Jennifer Tresh envisions three components for Elena’s Place: the main center, a recreational area, and a cottage. Though the center's blueprints are still in the process of being drafted by architects, Jennifer Tresh already plans for a separate entrance for children who need to play in secure areas so as to minimize the risk of infection. Additionally, Jennifer Tresh wants Elena's Place to include a library and a playground complete with a climbing wall. Individuals who want to contribute to The Elena Tresh Foundation should visit elenatresh.org. The Foundation accepts cash donations, gift cards, and gas cards, and also welcomes volunteers.
